All nations agree that due to the negative effect it has on the natural surroundings, pollution is prohibited in Antarctica. If any nation abuses this rule they will be fined $500 and will be banished from Antarctica for 20 years.

 

                                                                                    Mining

It is a unanimous decision that mining in Antarctica is allowed for scientific purposes only due to the fact that Antarctica is the only continent not destroyed by humans and as a result of the possibility of the death of miners .This could also cause disturbance to the fauna. If any nation breaks this rule, they will be charged $2000.

 

                                                                             Animals

All signatories agree that tourists must stay 1 metre away from all animals as well as no one introducing any wildlife into Antarctica due to the effect it may have on the native Antarctic fauna. This could also introduce diseases that could harm the native Antarctic animals which could lead to their extinction. If any country disobeys this rule they will be banned from Antarctica for 5 years.

 

                                                                           Tourism

All countries have come to the agreement that tourism shouldn’t be allowed in Antarctica as tourists may litter or cause pollution to this lovely pristine environment. If any nation violates this law they will be fined $50 000.

 

                                                                 Permanent Settlement

All countries have come to the agreement that there is to be no permanent settlement in Antarctica as this could cause a major disturbance to the wildlife. Also, if humans live in such cold conditions for such a long period of time, they could get very ill or even die .If any nation disobeys this law  they will be banished from Antarctica for 20 years.

Waste disposal

All nations have agreed that all waste must be kept in bins and all scientists must dispose of their waste in their own country. Every country is responsible for their own waste. Therefore if any nation is caught breaking this rule they will be banned from Antarctica for 30 years.

 

 

 

 

Military Activities

All nations have agreed that no country may perform any military activities in Antarctica due to the disturbance it may have on the penguins, seals and other wildlife. If any nation abuses this rule they will be charged $5000 and banned from Antarctica for 5 years.
