Pollution

All members involved in the Antarctic Treaty absolutely agree that, planes that are carrying tourists for a fly over must keep certain distances away from the animal homes. Tourists are certainly not allowed to drop rubbish on the floor. Sightseers who want to burn their rubbish must keep the ashes and bring them back to their country of origin. This rule was put in place so animals don’t choke on rubbish or ash from the incinerator. Anyone who breaks this rule will be struck with a huge fine.

Mining

All members involved in the Antarctic Treaty certainly agree that, every country is allowed to send 15 a year that are able to stay in Antarctica for one month maximum. If a miner finds anything they must share it amongst the other countries mining at the same time. No oil rigs are to be used, miners must dig for anything they are looking for. This rule was put in place to protect the fabulous marine life from oil slicks. If any country breaks this rule, they will be banned from mining in this blue continent forever.

Animals

All members involved in the Antarctic treaty absolutely agree that, there should be no feeding, touching or flash photography of the animals, as this could possibly harm or kill these magnificent creatures. Tourists are to be kept a distance of eleven meters away from all creatures big and small. People will not make loud noises when visiting animal homes, such as shouting. Nobody is to catch animals without a permit. This rule was put in place so that animals can continue breeding and keep population numbers up. Anybody who breaks a minor rule will be sent home and will receive a ban. A major rule being broken results in being sent back and may be imprisoned.

Tourism

All members involved in the Antarctic Treaty are positive that, there should be less cruise ships traveling to Antarctica, limited to two a summer season. Any tourist going to this winter wonderland will clean their clothes before exiting the ship they traveled on. By putting this rule in place we are reducing the amount of diseases, to the animals and lowering the amount of bilge and waste dumped into the sea. Anyone who breaks this rule will receive a huge fine.

Permanent Settlement

All members involved in the Antarctic Treaty can’t doubt that, there is to be no permanent settlement in Antarctica, as of the extremely cold weather and the damage it will do to the environment. The animals in this frozen palace will be harmed greatly as when a person wants to live there they will need to find a piece of ice free land, this is where the animals live. People will a place suitable for their needs, a doctor, etc. scientists that have been working here for a long time will want their families. Families will only be able to stay for one month, so new facilities won’t need to be built. This Antarctic rule was put in place so animals won’t lose their homes. Anybody who breaks this rule will be sent to prison for illegally building on land that they don’t own.

Waste Disposal

All members involved in the Antarctic Treaty strongly agree that, anything a sightseer takes into this pristine landscape, must take it back to their of origin. Domestic liquids must be treated before being pumped into the ocean, making sure there is no soap or chemicals in it. The cause of this law is so nobody accidentally or purposely drops rubbish on the floor, because, it does stay forever as Antarctica is like a deep freezer. Anyone who breaks this rule will be banned from this frozen paradise from a time to be decided.

Scientific Research

All members involved in the Antarctic Treaty totally agree that, scientist that want to research on Antarctica’s beautiful landscape, must have a permit and are to share all information they find with other scientific bases. All scientists must share all information they gather, whether they have studied an animal or plant. Anybody gathering information in Antarctica must have a permit, which was paid for at their country of origin. Scientists are not allowed to force animals out of their homes, so they can research in penguin rookeries, etc. all research bases are allowed to capture two animals each. When information is passed onto other bases, those bases are not allowed to carry on the same research. This rule was put in place so scientists don’t need to do the same research over again. Anyone who breaks this rule will be imprisoned for ten years and will need to pay a large fine.
